Money moves faster than memory does. A figure written on the back of a receipt survives until the receipt is thrown out, and by the following week neither the figure nor the reason for it is anywhere. The finance pages hold a run of entries in one place: money in, money out, and the balance left over, in your own hand rather than in an app that redesigns itself every year.
Two pages set a target in writing before the entries start, so a plan exists to compare the numbers against later. Twenty ruled pages follow for whatever a column will not hold: why a month ran short, what changed with a supplier, the conversation that explains a number better than the number does.
Twelve reflection pages close the block, one for looking back rather than forward. The book records what you tell it. It does not calculate an interest rate, does not advise on where a payment should go first, and gives no opinion on your finances beyond the space to write them down.
