Eight crops get their own column: chilli, tomato, long bean, spinach, cucumber, aubergine, sweetcorn, basil. Twelve pages run the tracker across them, a check for each visit, so a gap in the cucumber column shows itself at a glance instead of staying a memory you are not sure you trust.
Thirty squared pages follow for whatever a fixed column will not hold: a sowing date, a pest that showed up uninvited, a sketch of where a new bed should go. Four reflection pages sit apart at the back, for the season looked at as a whole rather than one crop at a time.
The book does not tell you when to sow or when to bring anything in. Frost dates and soil vary by plot, and the eight crops on the tracker are a fixed list precisely so the page stays usable from one year to the next, whatever grows there and whenever it goes in the ground.

Questions
Which crops does the tracker cover?
Chilli, tomato, long bean, spinach, cucumber, aubergine, sweetcorn and basil, each with its own column.
How big is it?
A5, 148 x 210 mm, 60 pages, 3.43 mm across the spine.
Is it dated?
No. It starts whenever the growing year starts for you and does not expire at a fixed calendar date.
Does it tell me when to plant or harvest?
No. Those dates depend on your soil, your frost line and the plot itself, none of which a fixed printed page can know.
What ruling are the notes pages?
Squared, 4.94 mm, for sketches of the plot as much as writing.
In order that the mortar in the joints may not suffer from frosts, drench it with oil-dregs every year before winter begins.
