An honest note

What was missing before, and is here now

This page once promised print-ready templates, then withdrew the promise because we had not actually made them. Now they exist: 27 kinds of sheet, 200 PDF files, free and with no sign-up.

The repair tier finder is running too — two questions, and out comes an estimate of cost and time. Still missing: video tutorials. If there is something you need that we have not written, say so — that is precisely how our next list of jobs gets made.

New: a public-domain plate room — 283 illustrations of binding, papermaking, marbling and tanning, taken from 28 books published between 1853 and 1925 whose copyright has expired. Every image carries its original caption, the name of its book, and a link to the source page. Material like this barely exists in Indonesian.

Newest of all: a three-volume bookbinding encyclopedia — 1,046 pages, 4,790 entries, reproduced as they stand from nine books published between 1683 and 1982, each entry carrying its author and year. It is in English, because its sources are in English; if you are looking for a term in Indonesian, our glossary is still the place. The whole of it is published as open data too, 5,460 rows, so a machine can read it. Free, like everything else.

Publications

98 books, each with its own DOI

Every book we publish is registered with Zenodo — the open archive run by CERN — and receives a DOI, a permanent identifier that keeps pointing at the same work even if its address moves. The list below is complete, arranged by series. The titles are given in Indonesian because that is the language they are registered and published in.

One thing worth knowing before you click: the DOI page is open and readable by anyone, but the PDF itself cannot be downloaded from there. That is our archive policy, not a broken link.
