A machine does not send a reminder when it is due for attention. Somebody has to hold that date, and if the somebody is a sheet of paper taped inside a cabinet door, it gets painted over eventually. The asset pages exist so the record outlasts the tape: one page for each item, its service history running down the sheet, so whoever inherits the equipment inherits the history with it.
Twelve pages sit behind the log for the maintenance done on a schedule rather than in response to a fault: filters, belts, whatever gets checked whether or not it is asking to be checked. A missed week shows up as a blank square, not as a guess two months later about whether it happened.
The last sixteen pages are ruled for repairs, part numbers and the phone call with a vendor that a checklist was never built to hold. The book does not set your service interval. That number belongs to the manufacturer or to your own record of what actually failed, and a printed planner has no way of updating it once either one changes.
