Three good things a day sounds thin until you try writing it on a day that gave you nothing obvious to work with. That is the day the exercise actually does something, forcing you past nothing good happened today and into the smaller true things that were usually still there.
Gratitude pages carry most of the book, one short entry at a time. A smaller run of ruled notes pages sits behind them for whatever does not fit the format, and a handful of reflection pages further back are for reading a month of entries together rather than one at a time.
A bad day does not turn good because three lines got written about it. The small things just stop disappearing along with the rest of the day.

- Computed from definitions — 25.4 mm to the inch — and not copied from anywhere, so every row can be checked by anyone holding the book.
- Pen test leaf
