A complaint that never gets written down gets told twice: once by the customer, and once, six weeks later, by you trying to work out whether this is the third time or the first. The log pages exist to end that argument with yourself before it starts.

Each entry runs long enough for what actually happened, what you told the person, and what you did about it afterward. A complaint closed on paper the same day it opened is a different thing from one still sitting open in your head a month later.

A short run of reflection pages sits behind the log, for the complaint that keeps coming back in different words. That usually means the problem was never really in what the customer said.

The film

Page by page

A vertical film, 52 seconds: the cover, the ruling page, then 5 reference pages. Synthesised ambient bed, no dialogue — captions in three languages.

A vertical film from our own bench — this page contacts nobody's server to play it, and downloads nothing until you press play.

Real pages

Five pages from the Complaint Log laid out as cards: a log entry page, a ruled notes page, a reflection page, a divider, and the owner page.
Five pages taken from the print file: a log entry, a ruled notes page, a reflection page, a section divider, and the front owner page. The log entry is the whole product: room enough to write what happened once, properly, instead of on a receipt or a sticky note that will not survive the week.
Detail card listing the Complaint Log contents: log pages, extra ruled notes, a short reflection section, and reference pages at the back.
A long run of log pages for the complaint itself: what happened, what was said, what was done. Extra ruled pages behind it for anything an entry runs past, and a short reflection section for the complaint that keeps returning in different words. An owner page and reference tables in the last leaves.

Questions

Is it dated?

No. Open it the day the first complaint comes in.

What goes in each entry?

What happened, what you told the person, and what you did about it. There is no fixed column for any of it, just room.

Who logs the complaint, the owner or the staff?

Whoever takes the call. The book does not care which one of you it was.

Does it track resolution time?

No timer, no due date field. Write the date it opened and the date you closed it and subtract.

Is it for a shop or an office?

Either. Nothing on the page assumes what you sell.
