The daybook runs to sixty pages, ruled into six columns: date, instrument, standard used, as found, as left, next due. An instrument that was out of tolerance before it got adjusted and one that drifted in afterward are two different facts, and a record with room for only one final figure loses the difference the moment it is written.
Twenty-nine lined pages follow, college pitch, for what a six-column row has no room for: which standard was substituted when the usual one was itself out for calibration, or why a reading got repeated three times before it was trusted.
The Next due column gives you somewhere to write your own calibration interval down. It does not print one for you. That figure comes from the standard you calibrate against, it is set differently by industry and by country, and nobody can correct a printed page once the book has left the shop.

What are the six columns?
Date, Instrument, Standard used, As found, As left, Next due.
How big is it?

Is it dated?
No. Start it whenever the first instrument comes in.
Does it print my calibration interval?
No, and that is deliberate. The interval and the acceptance tolerance both come from the standard you calibrate against, they are set differently across industries and countries, and a printed book cannot be corrected if that standard changes. The Next due column gives you somewhere to write your own figure once you know it.
What ruling are the notes pages?
College, 7.14 mm, 9/32 inch, twenty-four lines to an A5 page.
What is the difference between As found and As left?
As found is the reading before any adjustment. As left is the reading after. A record missing either one cannot show whether the instrument had actually drifted.
