Sixty register pages carry six ruled columns: item, ID, SWL, certificate number, examined, next due. A sling with no certificate number written against it is a sling nobody can trace back to the paperwork the day an inspector asks to see it.
Twenty-nine lined pages follow, for what six columns cannot hold: why an item was taken out of service early, what a repair actually involved, which supplier's chain kept failing before the rest got swapped out.
This register will not tell you how often a sling, a shackle or a chain needs examining, and it will not print a safe working load you can trust without checking the item itself. Those figures are set by the regulation you operate under, and set differently from one country to the next. Enter the load stamped on the item and the certificate number that covers it, and write the next-due date in once your examining body has told you what it is.

Does it tell me my examination interval?
No, and that is deliberate. Examination intervals and safe working loads are set by the regulation you operate under and by the item itself, they differ by jurisdiction, and a printed book cannot be corrected. The columns give you a place to record both once you know them.
What does SWL mean on the column heading?
Safe working load. You write in the figure stamped or certified on the item itself; the book does not supply one.
What ruling are the notes pages?
Lined, 7.14 mm pitch, 9/32 inch, twenty-four lines to the page.
