Sixty pages, six columns to a page: date, time, pressure, feedwater, blowdown, initials. A pressure reading with no initials against it is a number nobody can stand behind six months later, when an inspector asks who was on shift.
After the log come twenty-nine pages ruled college, twenty-four lines a page, holding what a column cannot: why a blowdown ran long, what the water treatment contractor said about a foaming trip, who signed the boiler back on after it.
It does not print your operating pressure or your blowdown interval. Those are set by the boiler code you are licensed under and the insurer covering the vessel, and they differ by jurisdiction and by boiler. The book gives you somewhere to write the reading down, not the number to write.

Who initials the log?
Whoever was on shift when the reading was taken. The column exists so that question has an answer.
As long as we supply oxygen, so long can we carry on the combustion of the iron, until the latter is consumed.
