Sixty pages, five columns: date, morning, evening, action taken, initials. Two readings a day, not one, because a fridge that drifts overnight and recovers before anyone looks at it in the afternoon still failed for hours in between.

Twenty-nine pages of notes close the book, ruled college at twenty-four lines a page, room for a corrective action that never fits in one column: which stock was moved, who was called, what the depot said when the phone was answered.

The book prints no acceptable range for either reading. A cold-chain range is set by the vaccine, the reagent or the produce inside the fridge, it is set by your regulator, and it can differ from one shelf of that same fridge to the next. Write your range on the inside cover in pencil, from your own protocol, and check every entry against it.

The film

Page by page

A vertical film from our own bench — this page contacts nobody's server to play it, and downloads nothing until you press play.

A vertical film, 52 seconds: the cover, the ruling page, then 5 reference pages. Synthesised ambient bed, no dialogue — captions in three languages.

Real pages

Five pages from the Cold Chain Temperature Log laid out as cards: a five-column log page with morning and evening fields, a section divider, a college-ruled notes page, a conversion table, and the pen test page.
Five pages rendered straight from the print file: the five-column log with its morning and evening pair, a section divider, the lined notes pages, the conversion tables, and the pen test leaf at the back. The columns are the product. A single daily reading hides an overnight drift that a paired one would catch, and that difference is the reason to buy one rather than rule your own.

Questions

What are the five columns?

Date, morning, evening, action taken, initials.

Why two readings a day instead of one?

A fridge can drift out of range overnight and recover before an afternoon check finds it. Two readings catch the gap a single one would miss.

Does it print the temperature range I should be checking against?

No, and this is the one place that matters most. A cold-chain range is set by whatever is inside the fridge and by your regulator, it differs by product, and a printed number here could be wrong for what you actually store. Write your own range in, from your own protocol.

How big is it?

A5, 148 x 210 mm, 100 pages, 5.72 mm across the spine.

Is it dated?

No. Start it the day the fridge goes into service.

What ruling are the notes pages?

College, 7.14 mm, twenty-four lines to an A5 page.
