The night before a trip, there is always a list that only exists in someone's head: the reservation number, the connecting train, the thing that has to be picked up on the way to the airport. Eight project pages exist so that list gets written down once and stops depending on exactly one person's memory.

Thirty-three lined pages make up most of the book, because a trip rarely goes the way the project pages assumed it would. A road closes, a museum is shut on a Monday, someone recommends a restaurant three streets over from the one you had already planned. The notes pages are where the actual trip gets written, as opposed to the one on paper.

Six finance pages hold what was budgeted against what was spent, so the next trip's project pages start from a real number rather than a guess. Most trips go roughly to plan for the first two days. The notes pages are for what happens on the third.
