A meeting produces two different kinds of text, and most notes blur them together. What was discussed is a record of the conversation: long, useful for context, and not itself a decision. What was decided is shorter and belongs on its own line, because six months later somebody will ask what the meeting actually resolved, not what was said along the way.
Each meeting opens with who was there and who sent apologies, then moves through discussion, decision and action in three separate blocks. The action block is a small table: what has to happen, who owns it, and by when, so a resolution does not quietly stop being anyone's job once the room empties.
It sets no procedural rule. Standing orders, quorum, and who may second a motion differ by organisation, and a printed book cannot be corrected once a rule changes. It holds what was decided and what happens next.
What is inside
- Minutes
- 60pp
- Who was there, what was discussed, what was decided, and the action table that follows it.
- Month
- 12pp
- One page a month, so a run of meetings sits under the month that held them.
- Notes
- 16pp
- Lined pages for whatever a meeting produced that the three blocks did not fit.
- Year
- 1pp
- The year laid out before the first meeting is recorded.
In every book
The same six pages open every book: your details, who to call, the signs to point at when you have no shared language, and the map. They sit at the front because the moment you need them is not the moment to be flicking through.
- How to use it
- One page describing this book, not a different one.
- This book belongs to
- One page for your name and number, so a book that goes missing can come back.
- My details
- Blood group, allergies, who to call. Written once, carried everywhere.
- Emergency numbers
- Forty countries, taken from Wikidata property P2852 (CC0), agreed across two sources, every row carrying its QID. Numbers change and a book does not — verify locally on arrival.
- Point at this
- A pictogram grid captioned in English above and Indonesian below, for when there is no shared language.
- World map
- Natural Earth 110m, public domain, equirectangular, with UTC hour meridians computed from the projection rather than from a timezone database. For orientation and for pointing at, not a navigation chart.
- Conversion tables
- Computed from definitions — 25.4 mm to the inch — and not copied from anywhere, so every row can be checked by anyone holding the book.
- Pen test leaf
- The last page, printed for it on purpose. Every notebook is used this way; printing it deliberately is cheaper than losing the last leaf to it by accident.
The film
Page by page
A vertical film from our own bench — this page contacts nobody's server to play it, and downloads nothing until you press play.

Questions
What does one meeting record hold?
Who attended, who sent apologies, what was discussed, what was decided, and an action table naming who owns each item and by when.
Does it set our standing orders?
No. Standing orders differ by organisation, and this book does not choose yours. It gives you somewhere to write down what they produced.
Is it dated?
Yes, laid out against the 2027 calendar.
Who is it for?
Committees, boards, and any small organisation that has to show what a meeting resolved, not only that it happened.
What is the action table for?
Turning a decision into a task: what has to happen, who owns it, and by when, so nothing decided in the room quietly becomes nobody's job.
A want of ready attention; only part of the request is heard at all.
