One question sits at the top of each of the forty prompt pages, and the rest of the page is left for the answer. Not a list of five questions to pick from. One, so there is nothing to decide before the writing starts. That is the whole design: fewer choices at the end of a day that has already made enough of them.
Twelve reflection pages break up the run of forty, spaced to look back rather than forward: not every evening earns a fresh question, some earn a pause instead. I have skipped the prompt entirely on plenty of nights and used the page for nothing more than a list of what happened, which the ruling allows without complaint.
Seventy pages of college-ruled notes sit at the back for the nights a single question is not enough, or the nights nothing about the format fits what needs writing down. The book does not ask why a page went unused. It only keeps the ones that were.

Looking back over a run of evenings once there is enough distance to see a pattern, rather than reacting to one night.
What if a night does not fit the prompt?
Use the loose-ruled pages at the back instead. Nothing requires the prompt page to be filled.
Does it come with a cover?
No. It is the sewn block, sized for a leather cover made separately.
