Four columns run across the daybook pages: date, role and company, stage, next step. An application that goes quiet after the first email is not a mystery six weeks later, because the last known stage is sitting on the page instead of buried in an inbox search.
Twenty-four further pages hold the preparation behind a single application: research on the company, the questions asked at interview, what you would answer differently next time.
