Two pages at the front hold a timetable: a time column down the left, then Monday through Friday across the top. Filled in once, at the start of the year, it settles where a student is supposed to be before anyone has to ask where they actually were.

The year unfolds across a hundred and six week pages, two to a spread, so an assignment set on a Tuesday and due the following Monday stays inside the same view. Ten project pages break from that weekly rhythm for the one piece of work that runs longer than seven days, and eighteen more are simply lined, for whatever the week and the project pages between them still left out.

It is built to the academic year rather than the calendar year, because a student's work does not reset itself every January. Twelve month pages still divide the block, one to a month, in the run the diary actually covers.

The film

Page by page

A vertical film, 52 seconds: the cover, the ruling page, then 5 reference pages. Synthesised ambient bed, no dialogue — captions in three languages.

A vertical film from our own bench — this page contacts nobody's server to play it, and downloads nothing until you press play.

Real pages

Five pages from the Student Academic Diary 2028 laid out as cards: a timetable grid, a week-on-two-pages spread, a project page, a lined notes page, and a reference table.
Five pages straight from the print file: the timetable grid, a week-on-two-pages spread, a project page, a lined notes page, and the reference table at the back. The timetable is filled in once and read all year, which is the point of putting it on its own two pages rather than repeating it weekly.
