A delay claim gets decided on paper, months after the delay itself is forgotten by everyone who was standing there. What the site diary held on that particular day is usually the only account of it that still exists, and a diary written up from memory the following week is worth less than one written the same afternoon.
Every day gets a page to itself: the weather, the labour on site, the plant working or standing idle, any delay, and the instructions given, written down as they happened rather than reconstructed afterward. Lined notes pages follow the daily run, for whatever a single entry does not settle.
It sets no contractual notice period. Those differ by contract form, and a printed book cannot be corrected once the day has passed. The diary does not argue your case. It only says what happened, on the day it happened.

Questions
What does each day page record?
Weather, labour on site, plant working or idle, any delay, and the instructions given, written up the same day.
Does it set my notice period?
No. Notice periods differ by contract form, and a wrong one printed on paper cannot be corrected. That number stays with your contract, not this book.
Can it be used as evidence?
It can support a claim the way any contemporaneous record can. Whether it is accepted is for whoever is assessing the claim, under whichever contract applies.
Is it dated?
Yes, one page a day through 2028.
Who is it for?
Site engineers, foremen and anyone responsible for the record that a delay claim, an instruction, or a dispute will eventually be checked against.
Nothing is denied to well-directed labour; nothing is to be obtained without it.
