Thirty rows of dots run down the page here, six millimetres apart, and nothing else is printed on the sheet. A dot marks a coordinate without drawing a line through it, so a table, a sketch and a paragraph can share one page without the rulings fighting each other.

Each dot is drawn as a point in the file itself, not stamped from a bitmap tile, so it keeps a sharp edge no matter how far the page is zoomed. Six millimetres is wider than most dot grids sold as notebooks, room enough for a capital letter to sit inside one cell without touching its neighbours.

There is no month printed anywhere in it, so it does not expire on a date nobody chose.

The film

Page by page

A vertical film from our own bench — this page contacts nobody's server to play it, and downloads nothing until you press play.

A vertical film, 52 seconds: the cover, the ruling page, then 5 reference pages. Synthesised ambient bed, no dialogue — captions in three languages.

Real pages

Five pages from the Dotted Notebook 6 mm shown as cards: a dot lattice page, a section divider, a conversion table, a world map page, and the pen test page.
Five pages rendered straight from the print file: the dot lattice, a section divider, the conversion tables, the world map page, and the pen test leaf at the back. Every dot is a point in the file itself, so it stays sharp rather than softening into a grey fleck when the page is enlarged.
Specification card for the Dotted Notebook 6 mm listing 132 dotted pages, 6.0 mm lattice, 30 rows, 140 pages total, A5 trim.
One hundred and thirty-two dotted pages at a 6.0 mm lattice, thirty rows to the page. Eight pages of reference follow: an owner page, conversion tables computed from definitions, and emergency numbers checked against two independent sources. One hundred and forty pages total, A5, seven sewn signatures of twenty.
