Three hundred and sixty-five pages carry one day each. Every one of them opens with a short paired fact pulled from the historical record: something that happened, or someone born, on that date. Nothing in that line is guessed. Each entry is checked against two independent records before it is set, and a day with no fact that clears both prints an empty line rather than a placeholder.
Below the date and the fact sits the ruled space for the day itself: twenty-three lines at six millimetre pitch. That is enough for an appointment list, or enough to skip and use as a plain diary page instead. Twelve month pages divide the year, and two pages of notes sit at the back for whatever the day pages ran out of room for.
A dated book only works if the year printed on it matches the year you are living in. I have opened last year's day book out of habit more than once, written half a page before noticing, and had to copy the entry across by hand. This one is dated all the way through, one page to a day, and it stops being useful the day its year ends.

Where do the daily facts come from?
A historical record, checked against two independent sources before it is set. If no fact clears both checks, the day prints with an empty line rather than a guess.
How much space is there to write on each day?
Twenty-three ruled lines at six millimetre pitch, under the date and the fact.
Is it dated for a specific year?
Yes, printed through from the first day to the last, which is also why it is not meant to be started mid-year and carried into the next.
Does it come with a cover?
No. This is the sewn block, sized for a leather cover made separately.
What is on the two notes pages at the back?
Ruled space at the same six-millimetre pitch as the day pages, for anything that did not fit one particular day.
As they were in the days of those whom we have buried, so are they now also, and no otherwise.
