Open to any date and the bottom of the page carries one line: a birth, tied to that day, with the source behind it. Most day-by-day diaries fill that space with a saint's day or a trivia line copied from wherever the last one came from. This one does not carry a line unless the date behind it holds up.
Every entry traces to a citable record with an identifier and a web address kept alongside it, and every birth is checked against that same record for the day, the month and the year together. A date that disagreed with its own source was dropped rather than kept for the sake of a full page. Where nothing survived that check, the footer is left empty. An empty footer means nobody was found for that day, not that nobody looked.
Above the footer, the page still works as an ordinary diary: room to write, a month spread ahead of each month, and a year page at the front. College-ruled notes pages close the working section, for whatever a single dated line has no room for.

The same six pages open every book: your details, who to call, the signs to point at when you have no shared language, and the map. They sit at the front because the moment you need them is not the moment to be flicking through.

- Emergency numbers
- Forty countries, taken from Wikidata property P2852 (CC0), agreed across two sources, every row carrying its QID. Numbers change and a book does not — verify locally on arrival.

- A pictogram grid captioned in English above and Indonesian below, for when there is no shared language.
- World map
- Natural Earth 110m, public domain, equirectangular, with UTC hour meridians computed from the projection rather than from a timezone database. For orientation and for pointing at, not a navigation chart.
- Conversion tables
- Computed from definitions — 25.4 mm to the inch — and not copied from anywhere, so every row can be checked by anyone holding the book.
- Pen test leaf
- The last page, printed for it on purpose. Every notebook is used this way; printing it deliberately is cheaper than losing the last leaf to it by accident.

Questions
Does every day have a fact?
No. A day with no verified record prints an empty footer. An empty footer is not a placeholder; it means the check found nothing that held up, not that nothing was tried.
How was each fact checked?
Each one traces to a citable record, kept with its identifier and its web address, and each birth is checked against that record for the day, the month and the year together. Anything that disagreed was dropped.
Can you tell me whose birthday is on a given date?
Open the book to that date. The facts are not listed here; they are printed on the page they belong to.
Is it still usable as a normal diary?
Yes. The fact sits in a footer at the bottom of the page. The rest of the page is yours.
Is 2028 treated any differently?
No. Every day in the year gets its own page and its own check, leap day included.
As they were in the days of those whom we have buried, so are they now also, and no otherwise.
