The Craft Circle: The Story Behind a Leather Artisan’s Journal
There is a story behind every product, but there is a deeper story behind a partnership. This post from Wulan Purnamasari, the figure behind the brand _soldate_leather, is not merely a testimonial. It is a beautiful portrait of a creative symbiosis, a craft circle returning to where it began.

In this warm and personal composition we see an artisan’s ecosystem. A unique “Soldyte” wooden watch circles their wrist, alongside a Hibrkraft journal set on a wooden table. Glasses lie nearby, as though just used for detailed work. This is a world full of natural materials and of an appreciation for handwork.
What makes this story so special, though, is a detail an untrained eye might miss. Wulan is one of the leather suppliers we rely on from Magetan, a region known for the quality of its leather. There is every chance that the leather we used to make the journal in this photograph came from the skill and the network they helped provide. We then worked that leather, sewed it and shaped it into a journal, and engraved it with precision with the logo of their own brand, “_soldate_leather”.
And now that journal has come back to them, not as raw material but as a tool for recording their own creative ideas. It is a perfect circle: from an artisan, for an artisan. Real evidence that collaboration and mutual support inside a creative community can produce something far more meaningful than a transaction.
Thank you, Wulan, for sharing this deep moment and for being a fundamental part of our journey. You have shown how the threads of creativity and of supply can be woven into one whole story, and you have inspired us to tell the story of Magetan more fully one day.
