A Travelling Companion at Thirty Thousand Feet

There is a strange kind of space in the modern world: the aeroplane cabin. A “non-place” that traps you between departure and destination. It is in this space, on a narrow fold-down table, that we so often arrange our small altar. A chosen set of essential objects for getting through the journey. This photograph from @pgandina is a perfect altar.

A glass of iced coffee. A reliable pen. And a leather journal ready to hold every thought that only arrives while we are floating above the clouds.

A Private Space in the Middle of a Crowd

Look at the composition. Beside a cloth in a traditional pattern that lends a personal touch, our journal does not merely sit there. It becomes the centre of this small world. Its contrasting combination of black and brown leather, tied with a secure knot, is a promise of calm in the middle of the engine noise.

I feel like this is not about filling time. It is about using time. Time normally wasted on waiting, turned into an opportunity to think, to reflect and to plan. This journal is the tool for that.

A travel journal has to be tough. It will be thrown into a bag, pressed between other things, and opened in unexpected places. Our design—thick leather, strong hand stitching, and a simple but effective strap—was born of that need.
