When Creativity Does Not Need a Perfect Canvas
Where is an idea born? Where is a work created? This photograph from Paisuchen (@paisuchen) gives a beautiful answer: anywhere. At any time. On anything at all.
Look at this scene. A wooden table. A black marker ready for battle. And an unexpected ‘canvas’: the lid of a paper cup. On it, a simple doodle full of feeling: “LOVE,” complete with a small and charming character. This is not about a masterpiece. It is about a spark.
A Home for the Bigger Ideas
And beside that small spontaneous spark sits something more permanent. A leather journal of ours. Sturdy. Tough. With a texture that looks as though it already holds many stories. What is its role here?
I feel like the journal is its home. Its bank. The place where the bigger and more important ideas are kept safely. The doodle on that cup lid may end up thrown away. But a sketch, a note or a poem that goes into that journal will last forever.

The Spirit of a True Creator
This is the spirit of a true creator. They do not wait for the right moment. They do not wait for an expensive canvas. When an idea arrives, it has to come out. On a napkin, on a parking ticket, or on the lid of a paper cup. Creativity is urgent.
And we, as makers of tools, are honoured to be part of this ecosystem. We provide the safe bulwark for the most precious ideas. We provide a home worthy of those sparks for when they are ready to become a larger fire.
Creativity is everywhere. Your task is to catch it. Our task is to give it a safe home.
Seeing our journal beside a creative act so pure and so simple is a reminder to us. That in the end we only make the tool. The wonder is in your hands.
