Home Is Not a Building. Home Is a Feeling.

Look at this photograph. And read the location: “My Home.” My home. But there are no walls there, no roof. There is only a still lake, hills turning blue in the distance, and a fisherman on a simple raft. This is a photograph from a true adventurer, Kenedhy (@kenedhykinsyafman).

And it is one of the most important photographs we have ever received. Because it reminds us who we actually make these things for.

A Journal for the Same Tribe

We met Kenedhy at Salam Risgabo, a community of nature lovers that shaped us. This was not a business meeting. It was the meeting of two souls from the same tribe. The tribe that believes adventure is the best teacher and nature the grandest home there is.

So when a true adventurer chooses our journal to keep them company on the way home to their ‘home’, it is not merely a purchase. It is an acknowledgement. An understanding that this object was made to endure. Made to face nature.

The Silent Travelling Companion

Look at the journal in their hands. A combination of black and brown leather, like wet earth and the shadow of trees. Its sturdy hand stitching is not merely an ornament; it is a promise of strength. It does not look awkward in that landscape. Quite the opposite: it looks like part of the ecosystem.

I feel like this journal will not be filled with meeting schedules or shopping lists. It will be filled with other things. Perhaps a sketch of the view. Perhaps a note on the direction of the wind. Perhaps a poem born of the silence of a lake in the morning.

There are homes that have walls. There are also homes that have only a horizon.

Seeing our journal in Kenedhy’s ‘home’, held against a background so wide and so still, is the highest honour. It is evidence that we do not only make accessories. We make tools. We make travelling companions that can be relied on.
